As CLIMER brings together participants from across the globe, live sessions rarely fall at a convenient time for everyone. We do our best to find a slot in the schedule that works for the majority of time zones. Sessions generally take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 12:00–15:00 Central European Time, though the exact timing is only confirmed once the cohort has been selected. If sessions fall during your regular working hours, you are expected to clear this with your employer in advance.

Participants are expected to attend as many live sessions as possible and to review recordings when live attendance isn't feasible. To be eligible for the certificate, an overall attendance rate of 90% is required, with at least 70% attended live.

If you can't commit to live participation, this programme is not for you.

Recorded sessions are only counted towards attendance when the accompanying quiz is completed.

The anticipated workload is approximately 2-3 hours per week, consisting of sessions, self-paced learning, and group work.

MCII is a non-profit organization, created in 2005, by representatives of insurers, research institutes and NGOs in response to the growing realization that insurance solutions can play a role in adaptation to climate change, as suggested in the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. As a leading think tank on climate change and insurance, MCII is dedicated to enabling capacity building and developing solutions to combat the risks posed by climate change for frontline communities in developing countries. This initiative is hosted at the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS).
